To celebrate the Initial D movies coming out in theaters, we wanted to make a list of some of the reasons why you should grab a giant bucket of popcorn and join us. With high speed risk and undeniable charm, these movies are perfect for anyone into action and racing.
If you have been wanting to get your friend into the franchise this is a great starting point. These movies allow for the story to be told in a new format, and allows for a condensed version of events found in the anime and manga. If your friend has always been “iffy” about the older animation in the series, these movies will be an easier sell since the animations style has been updated to current standards. We highly suggest watching the Initial D trilogy for anyone interested in getting into this amazing fandom!
If you love cars and just love when an anime gets things right about them, then these movies are made for you. One of the best features of the Initial D trilogy is its car features and the way each character seems to match the personality of their car. We also love the way they sprinkle in tricks and techniques that make the movie’s attention to detail more noticeable. Even if you aren’t a car enthusiast, you’ll love the immersive setting these movies have achieved.
We love the new Initial D visuals. The animations for these movies look very crisp, and is a major improvement from the original series which started way back in 1998. Each car racing scene hits maximum impact, immersing you into this world of speed and danger. If roaring engines and motors get your heart pumping into gear, you’ll go nuts over the audio which has been perfected for the big screen. We get chills each time we see Takumi and the gang race!
The excitement is real! From an excellent storyline to the updated visuals, we’re thrilled to be doing a theatrical release for this series. Initial D Legend 1: Awakening, and Initial D Legend 2: Racer will be showing starting on February 23rd, followed by Initial D Legend 3: Dream will be showing on March 9th in a theater near you.
